Opportunity Summary 

Audit and process payroll for the over 3000 employes of the County and several special districts within the county.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The student will have learned how to read, audit and correct timecards, FLSA overtime calculations, various pay components including regular wages, differentials, time offs, etc. They will also have learned to read payroll reports to ensure accuracy as well as interact with the various employees within the County of Santa Cruz.

Opportunity Training 

immersive training the first several weeks to fully teach the various aspects of pay components. Ad-hoc training as unusual circumstances arise. Daily training on the new payroll system we are implementing as we are performing parallel testing now. Various legal trainings required by HR or IT departments.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Depending on where she parks, she may have to cross a street. Members of the public have access to the public areas but not the internal location where she works.
