Opportunity Summary 
  • Work Setting — you’ll primarily provide services in client’s homes, with some sessions held in our local centers depending on your client’s needs

  • Qualifications:

    • You have a High School Diploma or GED completed AND have also completed at least one semester of college coursework or are currently enrolled in college courses.
    • At least 6 months of paid or volunteer experience working with children, preferably in educational or therapeutic settings (ABA experience is a plus)
    • You have a smartphone or similar device (e.g., iPad, tablet with internet services or laptop) capable of capturing client session data and are tech-savvy.
    • Exposure to individuals with Autism or special needs through family, friends, or work experience is a plus!
    • You can pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, TB test, Pre-employment Physical Exam, and have or receive immunities to MMR/ VZV during our onboarding, which we will pay for.
    • You'll be driving to and from clients' homes, so you have a reliable form of transportation including a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English Proficiently.
    • Ability to keep up with active children and are enthusiastic and professional.

    • Help Kids Learn Through Play: Teach children new skills like communication, sharing, or following directions — often through fun games or activities.

    • Be a Positive Role Model: Encourage progress and celebrate small victories every day.

    • Stay Active: You’ll be moving around, playing, and engaging throughout your sessions.

    • Keep Things Organized: Track what you worked on and how your kiddo did (we’ll train you on this too).

    • Support Families: Be part of a team that helps families see real progress and hope.

Training:

40 hour training

Training includes: supervisor stops by location 1x a week to meet on various topics, feedback on programs specific to clients, and workshops available for additional training if needed.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of academic internship, the student will be able to be prepared for a parent consult position, generalize ABA skills across multiple families, and generalize ABA skills from the home to multiple community settings.
