Opportunity Summary 

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Communications, the Communications Intern will provide support to the overall communications strategy for the Rose Bowl Stadium in the areas of public relations, community, ticketing, digital archives, budget management, and media support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist the Senior Director of Communications with the communication strategy for the Rose Bowl Stadium and Legacy Foundation, including but not limited to press releases, pitching story ideas, article placements and advertising opportunities.
  • Create content (videos, articles, photos, etc.) to post to website and socials.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Communications with Rose Bowl Stadium website.
  • Manage and maintain Rose Bowl digital archives including photos and videos.
  • Provide onsite support during Rose Bowl media filmings, and interviews.
  • Assist with the Rose Bowl Stadium Major Event Ticket Tracking and Distribution.
  • Assist with Rose Bowl Stadium Client and Vendor Gifting.
  • Support the Rose Bowl’s Community Programming Effort and Involvement.
  • Oversee Rose Bowl Non-Profit Ticket Donation Program.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Communications with media events and recaps.
  • Work on Marketing Materials including but not limited to Quarterly Newsletters, Brochures, Rose Bowl Annual Report, Event Notifications and more.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Communications with the Communications Budget.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Communications, Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, Marketing Manager and other key Rose Bowl Stadium staff on projects.

Learning Outcome:

1. Write and edit a variety of materials such as press releases, social media posts, newsletters, website copy, or internal communications that are ready for publication with minimal editing.
2. Compile media lists, draft media advisories or pitches, track coverage, and assist with press events or interviews, showing an understanding of how media relations works in practice.
3. Plan and complete a project such as a social media campaign, event recap, internal newsletter, or content series—from concept through final delivery—demonstrating organization, messaging strategy, and attention to deadlines.
