Marketing/Communications/Events InternAt — SoCal Drone Film Festival

Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for energetic and self-motivated marketing/PR/event planning interns. If you are an ambitious individual who wants to build a career in social media, content marketing, and publicity, as well as gain experience in event planning, then we want to work with you.

Marketing
You will assist with researching sponsor and filmmaker data, social media outreach, and perform some administrative work. Your work will include researching marketing opportunities, monitoring social platforms, and conducting market analysis to promote the new SoCal Drone Film Festival. 

Public Relations/Publicity
You will assist in developing promotional campaigns and connecting with local media to promote the event. Help with researching the effectiveness of campaigns and the festival's image. 

Event Planning
You will assist in planning the annual festival and community event. Coordinating with vendors, following up with details, providing input and ideas on how to build on and improve the event.  

In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should have excellent multitasking and organizational abilities. The successful candidate will also have knowledge of marketing techniques and social media platforms.

• Research companies
• Assist in the management of marketing operations under the supervision of the festival director.
• Perform market analysis and research on current trends in film and drone industries.
• Assist with daily administrative duties.
• Design and present new social media campaign ideas.
• Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback.
• Research and evaluate competitor/related marketing and digital content.
• Contribute to the creation of mock-ups, email campaigns, and social media content.
• Manage and update the company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
• Help with the planning and hosting of events.

Training:

1-2 weeks of remote training on festival operations and market standing, as well as policies and procedures to prepare the intern to move forward.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Perform market analysis and research on current trends in film and drone industries.
  • Research and evaluate competitor/related marketing and digital content.
  • Manage and update the company database and customer relationship management systems.
  • Develop a basic publicity/promotional campaign to promote events.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure quality services are provided.
