Volunteers Needed for Check In Tent
Check-in team vounteers help welcome guests and launch the event smoothly. Volunteers will assist with guest check-in, verify tickets, distribute wristbands and tasting materials, and answer basic event questions. This shift occurs duing the guest arrival period and focuses on helping attendees get started with the event experience. Volunteers may also be reassigned during the event to ensure smooth operations.
21+ Event Support Team Volunteer 12:30pm - 5pm
Event Support Team volunteers assist with the main portion of the Taste of Oceanside event. Assignment may include: Food server, Beverage server, Placard maker, or General help. Volunteer preferences will be considered whenever possible, but final assignment will be determined based on event needs.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunity:
Gain hands-on experience in event coordination and community engagement in the heart of Downtown Oceanside. Volunteers support MainStreet Oceanside’s public programs, including weekly Farmers and Sunset Markets and seasonal Information Booths. Responsibilities include assisting visitors, sharing local business information, supporting event setup and breakdown, and helping create a welcoming environment for residents and tourists. This role is ideal for students interested in nonprofit work, event planning, marketing, or community development. Volunteers will build communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills while working in a dynamic outdoor setting. Flexible scheduling is available, with opportunities for both weekly and one-time event participation.
By the end of this opportunity, students will have developed practical skills in community engagement and event operations. They will learn how to effectively communicate with diverse audiences, provide accurate information about local resources and businesses, and represent an organization in a public-facing role. Students will gain experience in event logistics, including setup, coordination, and troubleshooting in a hands-on environment. They will also strengthen problem-solving and teamwork skills while working both independently and collaboratively. Additionally, students will gain insight into nonprofit operations, downtown revitalization efforts, and the role of community-based organizations in supporting local economic development.
Students will receive an initial onboarding training that covers MainStreet Oceanside’s mission, program overview, and expectations. Role-specific training will include Information Booth procedures, common visitor questions, local business knowledge, and event logistics. Volunteers will be provided with written guides and key contact information. Onsite support is always available, as our main office is located nearby.
