Friends of Ballona Wetlands provides an educational environment in which to learn about ecology, restoration, community outreach, and childhood education, as well as opportunities to complete one or more projects that will further their educational experiences. Interns provide Friends of Ballona Wetlands with their time and research abilities and help us continue to grow and thrive as an organization!
We train all of our interns thoroughly to complete the specific tasks they will be participating in! Each of our programs require specialized training. For example, Community Outreach and Digital Media Interns will receive training on online content creation and Science interns will receive training on bird surveys.
We have different safety requirements for each position, the trainings for selected interns will include safety training.
We request a resume and cover letter from each student after they fill out the internship application. All information about the internship application process is available on our website at this link: https://www.ballonafriends.org/internships
