Opportunity Summary 

Roame (roame.travel) is seeking a Social Media Strategist Intern to support the growth and engagement of our brand across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Reddit. Roame is a travel technology platform that helps 1.8 million users search and book flights and hotels using credit card points and miles.

The intern will work directly with the CEO to plan, create, and analyze social media content that educates travelers and drives community growth. This role offers hands-on experience in content strategy, performance analytics, short-form video production, and community management within a fast-growing consumer travel brand.

Tasks:

- Research trending topics, formats, and audio in the travel and personal finance content space to inform content ideation (10%)
- Plan and maintain a weekly social media content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Reddit (15%)
- Script, film/design, and edit short-form video content (Reels and TikToks) for publishing (20%)
- Write captions, headlines, and copy for social media posts, stories, and community threads (15%)
- Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and community posts to maintain engagement (10%)
- Pull and analyze weekly performance reports, summarizing key metrics and actionable insights (15%)
- Assist with planning and executing social media components of email newsletter promotions and product launches (10%)
- Conduct competitive analysis of peer travel and fintech brands' social presence (5%)

Training:

- Initial orientation covering Roame's brand guidelines, tone of voice, content library, platform accounts, and tools (scheduling software, analytics dashboards, design tools such as Canva or Figma).
- Weekly one-on-one mentorship meetings with the supervisor to review progress, provide feedback on deliverables, and discuss professional development.
- Guided review of high-performing content examples and competitor benchmarks during the first two weeks to build baseline knowledge.
- Ongoing real-time feedback on drafted content before publishing, with structured revision cycles.
- Biweekly performance review sessions analyzing content metrics, discussing what worked, and adjusting strategy.
- Access to industry resources including travel rewards newsletters, social media marketing guides, and relevant case studies for self-directed learning.

Learning Outcome:

- Develop and execute a multi-platform social media content calendar aligned with brand objectives and audience insights.
- Create short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) from concept through editing and publishing, applying platform-specific best practices.
- Analyze social media performance metrics using native analytics and reporting tools to identify trends, diagnose underperformance, and recommend optimizations.
- Write clear, engaging copy tailored to distinct platform audiences and content formats.
- Apply community management techniques to foster engagement and grow an online audience across multiple social channels.
