Opportunity Summary 

The LGBTQ Center Orange County helps serve and provide the community and surrounding areas in a number of ways, with several key focuses on Mental Health, Sex Education, HIV & STI Testing/Prevention, Social & Support Groups, Programs focused on Youth Leadership, etc....

This open internship position will help support the marketing department at the LGBTQ Center OC. This support will help promote the program, services, and groups that the Center provides to the community. Main areas are our graphic design and marketing support for flyers, social media, and website content. 

  • The intern will demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes by developing the follow type of tasks:
  • Develop and Create Flyers for Groups and Programming.
  • Research competitive landscape.
  • Create and Ideate marketing graphics and assets to be used on the Center’s digital platforms.
  • Support developing and contributing to the Center’s Content Strategy and Style Guide.
  • Best Marketing practices for target audience, and marketing schedule plans.

Training:

To help the student achieve the learning outcomes, I will setup milestones to understand the process of marketing and ensure check points including an orientation, debriefs, and constructive feedback for every project assigned. I will also encourage and provide tools and resources to expand intern’s toolkit and knowledge.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to strategize and develop marketing assets to help promote services, events, and programming. They will understand marketing strategies and designing tools to help create assets that resonate and engage with audiences. They will also learn more about the LGBTQ+ community and their needs in Orange County.
