We are looking for a highly organized, analytical intern to support the planning and execution of seasonal content for our PC free-to-play live games. This role works across Production, Marketing, and Sales to help shape events, promotions, rewards, and content beats that keep players engaged over time.

What You’ll Do

  • Help plan and organize seasonal events, reward tracks, promotions, and live content beats
  • Coordinate with production, marketing, and sales to keep launches aligned and on schedule
  • Assist with building calendars, rollout plans, and execution checklists
  • Review live content and help identify ways to improve player engagement, retention, and response to offers
  • Gather and organize results from past events, campaigns, and sales efforts
  • Support brainstorming around rewards, progression, messaging, and community-facing initiatives
  • Track deadlines, dependencies, and follow-up items across teams
  • Document plans clearly and help keep projects moving

Tasks:

Students in this placement will perform duties related to LiveOps planning, player engagement analysis, and cross-functional coordination in a live free-to-play game environment. Duties will include:

- Assisting with the planning and documentation of seasonal events, promotions, reward structures, and content calendars
- Reviewing player-facing content and identifying opportunities to improve engagement, retention, and conversion
- Analyzing performance data from internal and external tools, including Player Link, Google Analytics, platform dashboards, and community channels
- Supporting post-event and post-campaign reviews by helping organize results, summarize findings, and identify patterns or recommendations
- Coordinating with Production, Marketing, and Sales to track deadlines, dependencies, and rollout needs for seasonal content
- Preparing written materials such as planning notes, summaries, checklists, and internal recommendations
- Reviewing past campaigns, event structures, and engagement trends to help inform future LiveOps decisions
- Participating in team meetings, planning discussions, and supervised strategy conversations related to player behavior, content performance, and business goals
- Assisting with audience, offer, and messaging reviews across game updates, promotions, and community-facing initiatives
- Completing guided research and comparative review of live service content approaches, player response patterns, and digital engagement strategies

Training:

Students will receive structured training throughout the placement to support their learning outcomes.

The internship begins with a general employer orientation, including an introduction to the company, its games, workplace expectations, communication tools, and confidentiality standards. The student will also receive a role-specific onboarding to LiveOps workflows and key reporting systems, including exposure to our \\Player Link\\ game CRM tool, which aggregates campaign, engagement, and sales data from platforms such as Google, Meta, TikTok, Twitch, Discord, Epic, Steam, GamersFirst, and Google Analytics.

During the placement, the student will have weekly one-on-one mentor meetings for guidance, feedback, and review of assigned tasks. They will also receive context and explanation for assignments so they understand how their work connects to player engagement, seasonal content planning, and business goals.

Training will also include job shadowing, work samples, and supervised hands-on practice. The student will review prior event plans, calendars, reporting examples, and promotional materials while building practical skills in planning, documentation, coordination, and basic performance analysis. Internal reference materials and guided exercises may also be used to strengthen understanding.

Learning Outcome:

1. Understand the foundations of LiveOps in free-to-play games - The intern will be able to explain how seasonal events, rewards, promotions, and content updates support player engagement, retention, and revenue goals in a live service game.

2. Analyze player-facing content through a behavioral and business lens - The intern will learn to evaluate how event structure, reward design, progression systems, and messaging may influence player participation, motivation, and purchasing behavior.

3. Develop practical cross-functional production skills - The intern will gain experience coordinating with Production, Marketing, and Sales, including tracking deliverables, supporting timelines, and helping align content plans across teams.

4. Build and communicate structured LiveOps plans - The intern will learn to create and organize seasonal calendars, rollout checklists, and written planning materials that support the execution of live game content.

5. Use data and post-mortem review to inform future content planning - The intern will develop the ability to gather and interpret results from events, campaigns, and promotions, then apply those insights to improve future seasonal beats and player engagement strategies.
