Camp Counselor - Connections Boarding Stable IncAt — Connections Boarding Stable Inc / Connections Riding School
Connections All Together (CAT) Camp, a summer camp program based on the Connections Horse and Pony Camps designed specifically for children who have symptoms of neurodivergence which might interfere with their success in a typical camp setting. Service Learning students will serve as individual counselors for the campers involved in the program. They will be assisting with implementation of the following modifications:
- A small group size
- 1:1 camper/counselor ratio
- Structured daily program
- Behavioral incentive program
- Chill space for quiet time
- Individualized activities based on the child’s needs.
This camp will have riding time, ground based horse and pony activities, interaction with other animals, educational activities, games, crafts, and a day with water play.
9 Service Learner Spots
Pre camp orientation in which students learn about farm and horse safety, facility layout, camp curriculum and the nature of the symptoms of neurodivergence and techniques for behavior, stress reduction and emotion regulation.
Must wear closed toe shoes or boots, sun hats and sun screen recommended.
