Loan Clerk/Loan Officer InternsAt — Best in Funding Inc.

Opportunity Summary

This internship is with a financial services organization that connects individuals and business owners with lending and financing solutions. The intern will be introduced to the full client journey — from initial inquiry to loan preparation. Day-to-day activities include:

  • Handling application intake and speaking with prospective clients to understand their financing needs
  • Organizing and tracking required paperwork and documentation
  • Identifying appropriate lenders based on client profiles
  • Supporting communication between clients, lenders, and senior staff

Task:

The intern is in an assisting role, not independently responsible. Specific tasks include:

  • Conducting routine outreach and follow-up check-ins with clients (under supervisor direction)
  • Reviewing client-submitted financial documents to ensure completeness
  • Organizing and preparing loan files for the Senior Loan Officer to review and approve

At no point is the intern solely responsible for a client file. All work is reviewed and approved by a licensed senior staff member before any action is taken.

Training:

Training is hands-on, frequent, and progressive. Specifically:

  • Daily engagement: Interns participate in daily team discussions where active files, client situations, and industry topics are reviewed. This ensures continuous, real-time learning.
  • Meeting inclusion: Interns are invited to sit in on client phone calls and teleconferences, providing direct observational learning of how professionals communicate with borrowers, business owners, and lenders.
  • One-on-one feedback: Supervisors meet with interns regularly to review their progress, answer questions, correct errors, and set goals for the following period.
  • Resource access: Interns are given access to company study materials and industry resources to support preparation for the NMLS (Nationwide Multistate Licensing System) National Mortgage Loan Officer Examination, giving them a professional credential pathway.
  • Orientation & procedures: Onboarding includes an orientation covering office procedures, compliance basics, client confidentiality standards, and professional conduct expectations applicable to the financial services industry.

The goal is for interns to leave with a foundational understanding of mortgage and commercial financing, practical exposure to real client interactions, and a head start toward professional licensing.
