Job Description / Internship Overview

  This internship blends psychology principles with healthcare sales, focusing on how patient satisfaction, mobility, and dignity drive better outcomes.  As an Arjo Associate Rep, you will support the sales of medical solutions like patient handling equipment, medical beds, and pressure injury prevention products.  Drawing on your psychology background, you’ll explore how these solutions improve patient experiences, influence hospital decisions, and boost patient satisfaction scores like HCAHPS that are directly tied to reimbursement.  Ideal for a psychology major interested on applied behavioral science, healthcare, and sales.  Candidate will gain real-world experience in patient centered solutions while building a foundation in medical sales.

Tasks:

Description of Tasks, Projects, and Assignments
• Conduct research and analysis of patient satisfaction surveys and HCAHPS data to identify trends and recommend psychological-based strategies for improving patient experience
• Assist in preparing and delivering sales presentations to hospital executives and decision-makers, focusing on the link between patient mobility, dignity, and measurable satisfaction outcomes
• Participate in hospital account management by helping develop targeted sales strategies based on stake-holder decision-making processes and value-based care priorities
• Support the creation of customer proposals and business cases that incorporate clinical evidence, cost justification, and patient centered outcomes
• Shadow and contribute to cross-functional meetings with clinical, financial, and executive hospital stakeholders to understand complex purchasing decisions
• Track and support sales pipeline activity, competitor intelligence, and market trends using CRM systems
• Collaborate with sales team to develop educational materials that connect psychological principles to improved patient handling and mobility practices

Training:

Training and Development
• Comprehensive initial orientation covering Arjo’s product portfolio, patient mobility solutions, and their impact on patient outcomes and satisfaction
• Introduction and understanding of regional sales team personnel and process in driving outcomes for acute care hospitals
• Weekly team and one-on-one meetings with the Regional Sales Director and Account Executives on the West Regional team for mentorship, guidance, feedback, and professional development
• Regular participation in sales team meetings and strategy sessions with local account representatives and analyzing patient satisfaction scores
• Assisting experienced reps during presentations, product demonstrations, and customer meetings
• Training in analysis of patient satisfaction data and applying psychological insights to healthcare sales
• Direct mentorship from both Regional Director and senior reps to build skills in stakeholder communication and hospital decision-making processes
