Opportunity Summary 

ONLY On Tuesdays 10:00-1:00 at the greenhouses

SUMMER 2026 - 3-4 service learner spots

Service learners this summer (in order to meet the hours requirement) will need to do both the Greenhouse and Community Programs with Habitat Stewardship Project Monterey Bay (HSPMB).

GREENHOUSE PROGRAM:

Students will assist in greenhouse maintenance tasks and participate in transplanting, serving alongside the Docents of Native Species.

  • Every Tuesday | 10:00am - 1:00pm

 

COMMUNITY PROGRAM:

Students will work weekend events for Habitat Stewardship Project Monterey Bay, engaging with community members with environmental restoration activities at bi-monthly community event park cleanups in the city of Salinas. Students will be able to demonstrate tasks, answer questions, and help keep our event materials organized and clean. Students will also participate in educational activities with the public.

  • Saturdays to be determined
  • 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Meet at the greenhouses on CSUMB campus
Opportunity Training 

Students will be oriented by HSPMB staff before their first event and trained by the Greenhouse team.  Program staff will check-in with students and be available to answer any questions.
