The internship will include the following components:

  • Structured Training: Interns will participate in an orientation and ongoing training focused on child development principles, age-appropriate practices, behavior guidance strategies, communication techniques, and professional ethics within early childhood settings.
  • Ongoing Supervision and Mentorship: Interns will work under the direct supervision of experienced staff members who will provide regular feedback, guidance, and mentorship throughout the internship. Supervisors will monitor progress, answer questions, and support the intern’s professional development.
  • Intentional Learning Outcomes: The internship is intended to help students:
    • Apply child development theories in real-world settings
    • Observe and support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
    • Develop professional communication and classroom interaction skills
    • Gain experience in creating supportive and engaging learning environments
    • Build an understanding of developmental milestones and behavior management strategies
    • Strengthen professionalism, teamwork, and reflective practice skills

Additionally, interns will have opportunities to observe experienced professionals, assist with developmentally appropriate activities, and reflect on their experiences in relation to their academic studies and career goals.
