Tasks:

Interns will perform the following duties throughout their placement. Tasks are assigned based on the intern's academic track and are designed to be professional and pre-professional in nature, requiring critical thinking, subject matter knowledge, and applied skill.

**Content Strategy and Campaign Development**
Research and contribute to the development of monthly mental health awareness content calendars. Interns will identify relevant awareness dates, themes, and topics, then propose content concepts aligned with Inner Peak AI's brand mission and student audience. This requires strategic thinking about audience engagement, platform behavior, and public health messaging.

**Creation of Educational Mental Health Content**
Research evidence-based mental health topics including stress management, anxiety, emotional regulation, burnout, self-care, and help-seeking behaviors. Using this research, interns will develop accurate, accessible, and stigma-informed written content for use across social media posts, infographics, and campaign materials. Psychology and health professions interns will apply their academic training to ensure messaging is responsible, inclusive, and clinically grounded.

**Graphic Design and Visual Content Production**
Design and produce professional-quality digital assets including social media carousels, infographics, posters, and story graphics using industry-standard design tools. Graphic design interns will apply principles of typography, color theory, hierarchy, and brand consistency to create content that communicates mental health information clearly and compellingly to a student audience.

**User-Generated Content (UGC) Development**
Conceptualize and produce original UGC-style content that authentically represents the student mental health experience. Interns will apply an understanding of social media trends, platform algorithms, and audience psychology to create content designed to drive organic engagement and reduce mental health stigma.

**Brand Voice and Messaging Application**
Apply Inner Peak AI's established brand voice and mental health communication guidelines across all content produced. Interns will develop the professional skill of adapting tone and format for different platforms and audiences while maintaining consistency in values and messaging.

**Content Review and Quality Assurance**
Participate in iterative review cycles by submitting work for supervisor feedback, incorporating revisions, and reflecting on the reasoning behind editorial decisions. This process mirrors professional content production workflows and requires interns to develop judgment around quality, accuracy, and appropriateness of public-facing mental health content.

**Collaboration and Team Communication**
Work within a remote professional team environment using digital collaboration tools including Discord. Interns will participate in team discussions, respond to feedback, meet deadlines, and contribute ideas during content planning, mirroring the expectations of a professional marketing or communications role.

**Portfolio Documentation**
Compile, organize, and present completed work in a professional portfolio format by the end of the placement. Interns will reflect on their learning outcomes, articulate the skills developed, and demonstrate growth over the course of the internship in a final review meeting with their supervisor.

Training:

Interns will receive the following training and ongoing support throughout their placement:

*PSYCHOLOGY interns must be supervised by Dr. Seneka Gainer, LMFT to meet the supervision expectations necessary for psychology requirements.

**Initial Orientation (Week 1)**
New interns will complete a general employer orientation covering Inner Peak AI's mission, platform overview, brand voice and content guidelines, and an introduction to the social media team. Interns will be given access to the Inner Peak AI app to explore the platform firsthand, review existing content on @innerpeakai on Instagram, and receive an overview of all assigned tools and communication channels including Discord.

**Onboarding to Tools and Platforms**
Interns will receive a walkthrough of all platforms used during the internship including Instagram, Canva or design tools relevant to their track, and the team Discord server. Track-specific interns will also receive samples of existing content and design assets to contextualize the visual and tonal standards expected.

**Task Contextualization and Work Samples**
Before each new project or campaign, interns will receive a written brief that outlines the objective, target audience, platform, and examples of reference content. This ensures every assignment has clear context before work begins.

**Weekly One-on-One Check-Ins**
Each intern will have a scheduled weekly check-in with their direct supervisor to review completed work, give and receive feedback, align on upcoming tasks, and address any questions or challenges. These meetings are designed to support both the quality of deliverables and the intern's individual learning goals.

**Track-Specific Skills Training**
Psychology, Mental Health, and Health Professions interns will receive an overview of how to communicate mental health information responsibly for a general student audience, including a review of messaging guidelines and examples of evidence-based wellness content.

**Ongoing Feedback and Review Cycles**
All submitted work will go through a review process with written or verbal feedback provided before content is published. This iterative process is designed to build the intern's skills over time and ensure they understand the reasoning behind any revisions.

**Letter of Recommendation and Portfolio Review**
At the end of the placement, interns will receive a formal letter of recommendation and a closing meeting to review their portfolio, reflect on learning outcomes, and discuss next steps in their career or academic path.
