Rehabilitation Aide (RA)At — maXum Therapy
The Rehabilitation Aide assists with non-patient care activities to facilitate department functioning such as (but not limited to) clerical duties, billing and scheduling as required. Assists in patient treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical or Occupational Therapist. The Rehabilitation Aide contributes to the accomplishment of Rehabilitation Aide practices and objectives that will provide a high performance culture that emphasize empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, and goal attainment.
1. Instruct and guide patients in therapeutic activities/exercises
2. Assists patients in ambulation.
3. Assists the therapist in any required task.
4. Facilitate department functioning with non-patient related administrative activities.
5. Assist in maintaining a sanitary and clean treatment area.
Training:
One on one training with a physical therapist, occupational therapist, and a experienced RAA. Review and instruction, demonstration, return demonstration, and guided practice for all tasks.
Learning Outcome:
Performs in a safe manner.
Applies Kinesiology coursework and instruction to situations/activities in the clinic.
Performs selected therapeutic exercises in a competent manner.
Performs selected administrative responsibilities in a competent manner.
Explains the anticipated benefit/outcome from the exercises.
Uses effective oral and written communication.
