About the Role
We’re looking for someone early in their coding journey to jump in and help us clean up, organize, and maintain Python code used across our AI projects. You don’t need to be a senior dev or AI expert—we’ll guide you closely. What you do need is curiosity, consistency, and the willingness to take feedback, ask questions, and improve fast.

This is a starter role with training wheels—but you’ll learn real skills in a hands-on environment. You’ll work side-by-side (virtually) with people who know what they’re doing and want to help you level up.

What You’ll Help With

• Refactoring and organizing messy but working Python code
• Cleaning up scripts, removing duplication, and improving readability
• Documenting what the code is doing in plain English
• Testing small changes and verifying outputs
• Helping maintain AI-related utilities, prompts, and workflows
• Using LLMs (like ChatGPT) to assist in debugging and documentation

Who You Are

• You know some Python and aren’t afraid to break and fix things
• You’ve used ChatGPT or a similar tool and actually understand how to get good answers out of it
• You’re organized, curious, and ready to learn from hands-on experience
• You’re okay with slow and steady growth—you want to get better, not just get through it
• You ask good questions when you’re stuck and take notes so you don’t get stuck twice

Bonus Points For (Not Required)

• Some exposure to git/GitHub, even just basics
• Any experience working with JSON, AI APIs, or Jupyter Notebooks
• Basic understanding of how LLMs or prompt engineering works
• You’ve cleaned up or documented code before, even for a personal project

Tasks:

Assist with Python development, debugging, and code refactoring under the guidance of senior developers.
Support AI initiatives by using tools such as ChatGPT and other coding assistants to research, prototype, and improve solutions.
Organize, clean, and document codebases to improve readability, maintainability, and performance.
Work with Excel, CSV, JSON, and other structured data to prepare, validate, and transform information for automation and AI projects.
Test new features, validate bug fixes, and document results.
Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and sprint planning to learn professional software development practices.
Research technical topics, APIs, and AI capabilities, presenting findings to the team.
Assist in developing internal automation tools and workflows that improve operational efficiency.
Maintain technical documentation, process guides, and project notes.
Complete progressively more independent development tasks as skills and proficiency increase throughout the internship.

Training:

**Training Provided**

Students will receive a structured onboarding covering company processes, development tools, and AI workflows. Training includes regular one-on-one mentor meetings, job shadowing, guided task assignments, code reviews, hands-on instruction in Python and AI tools, documentation and coding standards, and ongoing feedback to support continuous learning and skill development.

Learning Outcome:

Understand how AI is applied in insurance agencies.
To understand API's and what they can do and how to integrate with them.
Able to deploy through dev QA and production pipelines in azure
