Training will consist of formal orientation, hands-on learning, job shadowing, and regular feedback to help interns achieve their learning objectives while gaining real-world construction experience.

Interns will shadow Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field Engineers, Superintendents, and craft professionals while following all site safety procedures. Supervisors will provide ongoing coaching, one-on-one mentorship, and performance evaluations throughout the internship. In addition to developing technical skills, interns will strengthen their communication and collaboration abilities by working with their project team and partnering with supporting departments such as Estimating, Safety, Finance, Human Resources, and Project Controls, as well as project owners and clients.

Interns will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow interns from across Southern California—including Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego County—as well as industry leaders and professionals through networking and program events.

This internship provides civil engineering students with real-world, hands-on experience across a wide range of infrastructure projects, from general highway improvements to complex, billion-dollar mega projects.
