Physical Therapist InternAt — ProResults Physical Therapy - La Mesa
Unpaid Clinical Internship/Observation and shadowing experience. Learning environment will include, but is not limited to one or more of the following: purpose of profession, expectations as a clinician within the profession, specific/non-specfic daily operations of the clinic such as documentation, observation of patient treatment sessions, and learning from other physical therapists and physical therapist assistants on staff.
By the end of the internship, students may develop an understanding of outpatient clinical operations, physical therapy evaluation and treatment processes, patient communication, clinical documentation, HIPAA and professional ethics, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the role of healthcare professionals in delivering safe, patient-centered care. This experience is observational and does not involve providing direct patient care.
Students will be instructed that they may observe clinical evaluations, treatments, documentation, and communication but will not provide direct patient care. Additional training will be provided as needed throughout the internship. If students observe care involving minors or other vulnerable populations, mandated reporter responsibilities and procedures will be reviewed in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policy.

Not required. Rebecca is a current patient with the clinic however, internship and learning opportunities will be held separate from days she is attending as a patient.,
