ART 382 Project Rebound, InternAt — CSUF - College of the Arts

Opportunity Summary

Students will be designing lesson plans for the inmates at the Juvenile Detention Facility (Youth Leadership Academy, 3155 W. Justice Center Way, Orange, CA 92868), which is part of the County of Orange. In addition, they will be designing social practice projects and presentations for the community at large. The class is collaborating with the Project Rebound, Dare to Dream Art Program this semester.

Since 2019, CSUF Just Arts has received support from a sub-recipient grant from the California Arts Council, initially through its affiliation with the Prison Arts Collective. The program is currently collaborating with Project Rebound to extend arts education to youth in local detention facilities. Our current Dare to Dream project, with Project Rebound, utilizes visual arts and creative writing to offer an innovative approach to rehabilitation.
