Water Demand InternshipAt — Monterey Peninsula Water Management District
The Conservation Intern assists staff with a variety of projects while gaining practical experience in water management, conservation, and local government. The internship is designed to provide exposure to the District’s history, mission, regulatory responsibilities, and the role of water management on the Monterey Peninsula. The intern will work primarily with the Water Demand Department and may occasionally assist the Water Resources or Environmental Resources departments to gain a broader understanding of District operations. Typical Duties • Assist staff with special projects and day-to-day departmental activities. • Learn about the District’s history, ordinances, rules, and water management programs. • Organize and digitize files and historical records. • Assist with data entry, scanning, filing, and document organization. • Help prepare educational materials, presentations, and public outreach resources. • Conduct basic research on water conservation and District programs. • Attend staff meetings, training opportunities, and field visits as appropriate.

We will ask for letters of interest from potential intern candidates to be submitted to HR (simona@mpwmd.net) and then we may follow up with supplemental questions and will want to interview as well
