Behavior Technician At — Behavior Frontiers
Students will gain hands-on experience supporting children with autism through evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. Under clinical supervision, students will assist with individualized treatment goals focused on communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills. This opportunity provides practical experience in professional documentation, data collection, behavior support, and collaboration with clients, caregivers, and the clinical team.
By the end of this opportunity, students may develop skills in implementing ABA strategies, collecting and documenting accurate data, following individualized treatment plans, using prompting and reinforcement procedures, supporting skill acquisition, and responding appropriately to challenging behaviors. Students will also strengthen their communication, professionalism, time management, ethical decision-making, and collaboration skills while receiving ongoing training and clinical feedback.
Students will complete required onboarding and competency-based training before independently performing assigned responsibilities. Training includes ABA principles, implementation of treatment plans, data collection, prompting and reinforcement procedures, behavior-reduction strategies, professional documentation, client confidentiality, ethics, safety procedures, and mandated reporter training. Additional client-specific training will be provided before services begin.
Students may work with clients who display challenging behaviors, including aggression, elopement, or property destruction. Responsibilities may involve standing, walking, bending, and engaging in active play. Students will receive training on safety procedures, emergency protocols, mandated reporting, and client-specific behavior plans. Students are not expected to use physical restraint unless specifically trained and authorized.
