Pantry/Boutique InternAt — Operation HOPE-North County
As our pantry/boutique intern a dedicated student will have the ability to work directly with OHNC clients who are experiencing homelessness in the North County San Diego region. During this fruitful internship students will be able to create promotional content for our communal food pantry and new beginnings boutique. Our student intern will also have the ability to help in coordinating special event such as fundraisers and community resource fairs. All in all, we are looking for a well rounded and compassionate individual who is social media savvy, organized, and people oriented.
At Operation HOPE–North County, our dedicated staff, volunteers, community partners, and donors are committed to providing shelter and support to families, single women, and children experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming unhoused throughout North County. Through our 90–120-day transitional housing program, participants are provided with a private family room to help keep families together, daily meals, personalized case management, and educational evening classes designed to empower them with the tools and resources needed to achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency. During your time as an intern at Operation HOPE-North County you will gain insight on what community members' most pressing needs are ranging from families experiencing homelessness for the first time, low income families facing food insecurity, and unhoused community members needing a fresh change of clothing. We are a beacon of hope for many community members and have immense pride in providing a welcoming and impactful space for any of their needs.
We will provide a mandated reporter training, de-escalation training, review client shelter handbook, review emergency preparedness/crisis protocols, and trauma informed care training.
Student may be asked to lift 10-20lbs of produce and donations.
