Opportunity Summary 

Come be a part of the community of Meals on Wheels delivering to the homebound and needy as well as learn and participate in the running of this type of organization.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Learn what small acts of kindness can mean, how very little social interaction affects older adults, how to recognize when people need help, appreciation for the cycle of life, perspective among various classes and ethnicities, and above all responsibility.

Opportunity Training 

Full on-site orientation; emergency procedures; first step shadowing with a seasoned volunteer prior to going alone to deliver meals within the community.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students are required to complete orientation, have valid driver's license and insurance, be vetted by a seasoned volunteer for good fit and then they will assist the organization in a variety of duties, not exclusively delivering, office work, tasks, community outreach, etc.
