MCAET InternAt — Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) - Communications Internship
Our internship program gives students hands-on experience in broadcast and video production through real coverage of municipal meetings in Salinas and Monterey. Interns learn practical skills such as camera operation, live switching, basic video editing, and audio adjustment for broadcast. It’s a great opportunity for students interested in media, storytelling, or production, and especially rewarding for those curious about civics or local government. Students get a firsthand look at how cities conduct business, make decisions, and serve their communities. With mostly afternoon hours and some morning or weekend opportunities, this internship offers meaningful professional experience, valuable technical training, and a unique chance to connect creative media work with civic engagement.
Students will receive training in broadcast equipment and video production. They will reveice an in-house certification for completing the training.
