HOPE Program Specialist Intern At — Family Service Association - Moreno Valley
The HOPE Program Specialist Intern supports the HOPE (Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Education) Program by assisting with child abuse prevention initiatives, community outreach, collaborative meetings, and administrative projects throughout Riverside County. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit program coordination, community engagement, prevention education, data collection, and event planning while working alongside experienced HOPE staff.
Students will learn how to: Understand the principles and best practices of child abuse prevention and family strengthening. Build partnerships with community organizations and participate in multidisciplinary collaborations. Assist with planning and implementing outreach events, workshops, and awareness campaigns. Develop professional communication skills through interaction with families, community partners, and agency staff. Collect, organize, and report program data, demographics, and outcome measures. Create and organize educational and outreach materials for community distribution. Navigate community resources and understand referral processes for children and families.
Mandated Reporting will be provided to intern.
Interns may participate in community outreach events, meetings, and educational activities throughout Riverside County. Safety protocols include receiving orientation on agency policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality of participant information, following all staff direction during community events, and using safe practices when setting up or transporting outreach materials.
