Opportunity Summary 

This internship provides experience within the Development team, supporting administrative responsibility, donor stewardship, and major event planning and execution. Alongside the Development team, this intern will gain insight into non-profit development efforts which support services for children and families.

Tasks:

- Provide organizational and administrative support to the Development Team, including data entry, filing, mail preparation, and donor record updates.
- Assist with donor stewardship efforts, including preparing thank-you letters and assembling donor communication or engagement pieces.
- Support planning and coordination of major fundraising events including the annual fundraising lunch-in, grand opening of new housing, and year-end stewardship activities.
- Support post-event follow-up and continued outreach initiatives
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling donor and organizational information.

Training:

Volunteers and interns will receive:
- An initial onboarding and organizational overview
- Clear guidance on responsibilities and expectations
- Job shadowing with the Development Team
- Ongoing support, including check-ins at the start of each shift and regular feedback conversations

Learning Outcome:

Through hands-on exposure and experience, this internship will result in, but not limited to, the following learning outcomes:
- Develop a foundational understanding of nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
- Strengthen professional communication skills through donor correspondence, team collaboration, and event interaction.
- Increase an understanding of how donor stewardship advances the organization’s mission.
- Increase in confidence in professional workplace etiquette, teamwork, and project support responsibilities.
- Participation in cross-functional collaboration within a nonprofit setting
