Volunteer Coordinator InternAt — Giving Children Hope

The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will support our volunteerism and community engagement efforts by supporting our Volunteer Coordinator and our Volunteer Programming. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community service and community engagement with a non-profit organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Student will be working with the Advancement Manager & Volunteer Coordinator to assist in all community engagement efforts. This will include assisting in hosting volunteer events, communicating with volunteers and campus guests via email and cold call for confirmations and acknowledgements, and supporting in creating volunteer-related social media campaigns.

• Create a pre and post event roster for weekly events/track attendance
• Assisting with tracking inquiries in the Outlook Email Box, ensuring Volunteer Coordinator has responded to all.
• Send email confirmations for volunteer events and assist with confirmation texts and calls
• Draft and send thank you emails using the software Bloomerang
• Welcome and check-in volunteers, ensuring waivers are signed
• Occasionally assisting in Volunteer Orientation
• Create Volunteer accounts and upload waivers using the software Blooemrang Volunteer
• Fill in gaps during volunteer events

Training:

Student will experience a general staff training and daily training with the Volunteer Coordinator.
