College Corps Fellow Duties and Responsibilities
College Corps Fellows serving with our organization will support programs and initiatives designed to improve educational outcomes, promote healthy lifestyles, and increase equitable access to organized sports opportunities for youth throughout our community. Fellows will engage in direct service activities, program support, community outreach, and capacity-building efforts that benefit K-12 students and families.
Youth Program Support
Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing youth sports and enrichment programs.
Support coaches, staff, and volunteers during practices, clinics, camps, and special events.
Help facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote teamwork, leadership, communication, and personal development.
Provide mentorship and encouragement to youth participants in a positive and inclusive environment.
Assist with participant check-in, attendance tracking, and program logistics.
Education and Academic Engagement
Support educational activities that connect sports participation with academic success.
Help develop and distribute educational materials for students and families.
Encourage youth engagement in learning through sports-based educational programming.
Assist with STEM, literacy, and leadership activities incorporated into sports programming.
Health and Wellness Promotion
Support health and wellness initiatives that encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.
Assist with nutrition education workshops, wellness events, and fitness activities.
Help organize community health fairs, youth fitness challenges, and wellness campaigns.
Promote positive mental health, self-confidence, and social-emotional learning through sports-based programming.
Assist in distributing health and wellness resources to participants and families.
Equity and Access Initiatives
Support efforts to reduce barriers to sports participation for underserved youth.
Assist with equipment collection, distribution, and inventory management programs.
Help connect families with available sports, educational, and community resources.
Participate in outreach efforts to engage historically underrepresented populations in organized sports programs.
Support scholarship, registration assistance, and access initiatives that help youth participate in sports regardless of financial circumstances.
Community Outreach and Engagement
Assist with community events, recruitment efforts, and awareness campaigns.
Represent the organization at schools, community centers, and partner events.
Help build relationships with families, community organizations, and educational partners.
Support volunteer recruitment, engagement, and event coordination activities.
Assist with distributing program information and promoting upcoming opportunities.
Program Administration and Capacity Building
Assist with data collection, participant surveys, and program evaluation activities.
Help maintain records related to program participation, outcomes, and community impact.
Support development of reports, newsletters, and outreach materials.
Assist with social media content creation and community engagement efforts.
Support operational tasks that strengthen organizational effectiveness and program delivery.
Professional Development and Leadership
Participate in training sessions related to youth development, education, health and wellness, diversity and inclusion, and nonprofit operations.
Develop leadership, communication, teamwork, and project management skills through service activities.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, community partners, and fellow College Corps participants.
Engage in reflection activities that connect service experiences to personal, academic, and professional growth.
Expected Impact
Through these activities, College Corps Fellows will help expand access to quality sports and educational opportunities, promote healthy and active lifestyles, support academic achievement, and advance equitable outcomes for K-12 youth and families in the communities we serve.
