Opportunity Summary 

The marketing intern at SERVPRO of Irvine will gain hands-on experience in marketing, brand development, digital communications, community outreach, and business development within the property restoration industry.

Working alongside SERVPRO of Irvine's management team, the intern will assist in planning and executing marketing initiatives designed to increase brand awareness, strengthen relationships with referral partners, and support business growth. The internship will provide exposure to social media marketing, content creation, market and competitor research, campaign planning, performance tracking, and professional business communications.

The intern will participate in real-world marketing projects and receive guidance, feedback, and opportunities to develop professional marketing skills. Assignments will emphasize critical thinking, creativity, communication, organization, and the practical application of marketing concepts learned through academic coursework.

• Create and schedule content for social media and digital marketing channels.

• Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns and community outreach initiatives.

• Conduct market, competitor, and target-audience research to identify marketing and business development opportunities.

• Track marketing performance and use analytics to evaluate engagement and campaign effectiveness.

• Develop marketing materials for referral partners, events, and community outreach.

• Participate in marketing strategy discussions and contribute ideas based on research and performance.

• Complete marketing projects from planning through execution and evaluation.

Training:

The student will receive an initial orientation covering SERVPRO of Irvine’s services, workplace expectations, brand standards, and marketing goals. Training will also include guidance on marketing tools and platforms, review of previous marketing materials and work samples, job shadowing, and regular one-on-one meetings with a supervisor to review assignments, provide feedback, and discuss progress toward learning goals.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:

1. Develop and execute marketing content and campaigns that align with organizational goals, target audiences, and established brand standards.

2. Apply digital marketing principles to create and manage professional content across social media and other digital communication channels.

3. Conduct market, competitor, and target-audience research and use findings to identify marketing opportunities and support business development strategies.

4. Evaluate marketing performance using relevant metrics and analytics and communicate findings and recommendations to management.

5. Demonstrate professional communication, project management, and collaboration skills while completing marketing projects in a professional business environment.
