Opportunity Summary 

Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of the federally threated thread-leaved brodiaea receptor site in San Marcos. Assist with the enhancement and uplift of native grassland. Duties involve removing invasive species, excessive plant material, and installation of container plants, grass plugs, or casting native seed. May work unsupervised for general site patrols.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

How to identify thread-leaved brodiaea and other common native grassland species found in San Diego County. Apply critical thinking to the habitat restoration process in context with existing soil conditions. Lean how to apply City/County approved habitat Maintenance and Monitoring Plans.

Opportunity Training 

Tailgate safety meeting prior to field work. Overview of plant identification, plant installation.
