Opportunity Summary

This internship provides students with practical learning experience in audio post-production within a professional studio environment. The program emphasizes training, observation, and skill development.

Interns will:

  • Gain exposure to studio workflows, audio editing processes, and production support
  • Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced audio professionals
  • Participate in supervised, educational activities that reflect real-world practices

Interns do not displace employees. Tasks and responsibilities are structured to support learning objectives and may vary by departmental needs.

The intern will demonstrate their learning outcomes by shadowing our audio engineers during recording, editing, and mixing sessions. Learning and assisting with recording script and session preparation, audition editing, vocal/pronunciation references, and our quality check process. And occasionally assisting other departments (production, data/IT, etc) with audio related inquiries and tasks.

We begin with an orientation on the intern’s first day. Then, the intern proceeds through a number of learning modules that consist of mock work our employees do everyday. Once they complete a module, a Bang Zoom! employee evaluates their work before they can proceed to the next module. This training process usually takes a month. The interns also share an office space with our employees so they often monitor the intern’s work, unprompted, multiple times a day. We also conduct mid-term evaluations and end of internship evaluations via in person meetings.

The student will be able to recognize industry standard recording, editing, and mixing workflows for audio post-production, and implement these procedures into their own careers. They will also have advanced knowledge of AVID ProTools, Izotope RX, Microsoft Office, and a variety of other organizational applications. The student will have experience navigating a professional studio environment and learn how to facilitate interdepartmental communication.
