Opportunity Summary 

Student trainees will will be trained to work in a veterinary clinic as it pertains to spay and neuter surgeries.

They will have opportunities to train in pre and post surgical patient care, observe surgeries, and learn to communicate with the pet owners regarding homecare of the patient.

Most of our volunteer students are interested in some avocation in the veterinary industry. We also offer introduction to other DVMs who work with different species or specialty, for example, livestock/herd, equine, or shelter/rescue.

Opportunity Training 

All training necessary to do the tasks safely related to pre and post surgery, kennel duties and delivering homecare instructions to the owner is provided.

Opportunity Supervision

We have a basic training protocol, supervised by our lead tech Daniel. A check list will be implemented.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

We handle dogs and cats. We do not ask the students to do anything beyond their comfort or training level.
