Our mission is to create sustainable food systems by incubating novel solutions for shifting diets and shaping cultural narratives that guide food choices. We envision a thriving world where plant-based food is the norm.

The mission of the Better Watts Initiative is to identify health injustices that plague the historic community of Watts in South Central Los Angeles and support equitable community development. We target these injustices in the short term by empowering residents of Watts with information, and resources to combat health risks. We address health injustices longterm by encouraging elected officials representing Watts to advocate for improvements of the top five social determinants of health: (1) Education, (2) Economic Stability, (3)Health Care, (4)the Environment and (5) Community.

The following sites under the Betty Kwan Chinn Homeless Foundation are approved:

• Betty's Annex, and Betty Chinn Day Center & Children's Program at 133 7th st., Eureka
• Betty's House-Family Shelter & Medical Respite at 624 C Street, Eureka
• Betty's Village at 801 W. Washington St., Eureka

Beyond Baroque's mission is to advance the public awareness of and involvement in the literary arts; to provide a challenging program of events which promotes new work and diversity; to foster a place in the community for the exchange of challenging ideas and the nurturing of new work; to support writers through readings, workshops, books sales, publication, access to archived material and performance space; to encourage collaboration and cross-fertilization between writers and artists in multiple disciplines with the goal of producing mixed media art; to use the literary arts as a foundation for increasing education and literacy in our community.
