We are glad that you are here to learn more about who we are and we look forward to partnering with you as we further our mission. The Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County, Inc. (CAB) is celebrating over 50 years of Community Action! CAB operates 6 programs assisting over 8,000 low-income people with emergency, sustaining/self-sufficiency services and serves an additional 7,000+ with requests for information and referrals. Over three quarters of CAB’s clients have family incomes of less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and at least a quarter of clients have less than 150% of the Guidelines.

Program Information

ALCANCE is seeking CHHS interns to offer wrap around services to youth and their families. Such as linking to resources, homework support, job readiness, civic engagement, etc.

Case Manager Support/Employment Support: assist with data entry, group faciliation, job coaching, resume development, and job search assistance to youth and adults.Support is needed at the Day Worker Center of Santa Cruz County located in Santa Cruz (7th ave/Soquel) and in the ALCANCE office in Watsonville. 

Youth Leadership Support: Assist in the planning and facilitation of a youth centered leadership development group. Participants explore emerging topics and respond with community activism and education. Intern would be suppporting with coordinating and facilitating outreach and 1:1 and group workshops for low-income at-risk youth.  HIV, Joven Noble and Xinachtli curriculum in community and school settings. The goal being to empower youth to learn about an issue impacting decision making and community.
