Program Information

The North County Recreation and Park District (NCRPD) is approximately 46 square miles, serving the communities of Castroville, Elkhorn, Moss Landing, Oak Hills and Rancho Moro Cojo, as well as unincorporated areas within Northern Monterey County. The NCRPD was formed as a local government agency (special district) from a local voter initiative. Recreation and Park Districts provide recreational opportunities as a local government function within a specific boundary and provide services at the highest levels of accountability and responsibility to the public. The district has been dedicated to providing residents with park facilities and programs of exceptional quality since 1954. We currently operate the North County Recreation Center, Cato-Phillips Park, Crane Street Park, Japanese School Park, Rancho Moro Cojo Park, and the Moro Cojo Nature Trails.

The district is an independent recreation and park district governed by a five member Board of Directors.  The District currently owns, operates, and maintains five neighborhood parks, a 10,000sq ft Recreation Center, 2 miles of hiking trails and 70 acres of open space, as well as, offering a variety of programs and services.
