Marina Vista Elementary School - MPUSD

Organization Description

At MPUSD, the Educational Services department is committed to providing services and support to meet the needs of our diverse learners from grades K-12 and beyond. We work together with our school leaders and staff to ensure all of our students have access to a high-quality instructional program and the services needed to succeed as individuals.

Program Information

Service learning students interested in doing their service at any school within MPUSD must attend a MANDATORY Orientation. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

We are a fairly small school with approximately 400 students in grades K-5. Our students come from diverse cultural backgrounds and often speak English as their second language. We celebrate this diversity. You will find our school has a very welcoming feel to it. The staff is friendly and the students are generally very polite and respectful. We encourage people to volunteer who are conscientious, caring, and enjoy being around children.

We are interested in recruiting individuals who will provide support services. This may include reading 1:1 with a child, helping students with classwork, planning a small group lesson to supplement curriculum. Volunteers work 1:1 or small group depending on course requirements/teacher request. All volunteers work in the classroom with teacher supervision.
