John Steinbeck Library - Salinas Public Library

Organization Description

Salinas and the Salinas Valley are known as "The Salad Bowl of the World" for the production of lettuce, broccoli, mushrooms and strawberries along with numerous other crops. The climate is also ideal for the floral industry and grape vineyards planted by world-famous vintners.

City of Salinas is the Fiscal Agent for departments, programs, and projects working under the umbrella of City of Salinas.

Program Information

The John Steinbeck Library, located in the central part of Salinas, holds the major portion of the collection. Its collection strengths include Internet access, business items, large print books, Spanish language material, Steinbeck and local history materials, vehicle repair manuals, career information, consumer information, California telephone directories, a Digital Arts Lab, and Literacy Center.
