Program Information

Our mission is to provide compassionate and uplifting transitional care for women in crisis and hungry children in Orange County.
Our vision is to provide a safety net for uniquely challenged and under-served women and children through love, hope, and spiritual healing.

Since 2004, GHH has evolved from a small emergency shelter, to a campus-model Housing Program offering Transitional Housing, Emergency Shelter Services and Rapid Rehousing. Currently GHH serves over 100 women each year through these housing programs, providing supportive services with a goal of self-sufficiency and permanent, sustainable housing. GHH particularly welcomes hard-to-place cases, lifting the emphasis off the “issue” and focusing on the individual’s specific needs, such as access to health care and support during treatment for serious illness. For instance, GHH is the only housing program in Orange County that specializes in services for homeless women struggling with breast cancer. Clients are provided with case-management and wrap-around services, including group/individual counseling, medical assessment and service referrals. GHH also feeds nearly 500 hungry children each year through the Nana’s Kidz program. These children rely on the free lunch program at their schools for most stable meals. Nana’s Kidz fills in with weekend and school vacation meals. GHH also provides the Hope Works! program which offers education and enrichment to at-risk youth, and education and workforce development to their families as well as the women in GHH programs.
