Sacramento Regional Transit

Organization Description

SacRT is a committed community partner that believes we are built on serving others through the delivery of safe, clean, and convenient public transit to all members of the community.

Program Information

Students will be collaborating with the Social Services Practitioner on taking an active and innovative approach to help address the unhoused crisis impacting the community and Sac RT system. Students will learn about local resources to help the most vulnerable members of our community and will be able to link/refer individuals. Students will learn how to forge partnerships in the community to provide access to City and County resources.

Health & Safety

Students will be exposed to Homeless encampments/Unhoused individuals which often lack proper sanitation/hygiene, which can lead to health hazards. Infectious diseases like hepatitis A, tuberculosis, and COVID-19 can thrive in such conditions, posing risks to both the occupants and nearby communities. Students will not be in the field without the Social Services Practitioner or a Task Supervisor.
