Organization Description

The Mission: The HeartWay is a nonprofit organization that is committed to providing end-of-life care, counseling, education, advocacy, ministry, and supportive programs to the most vulnerable populations - all at no cost. The Heartway envisions a world where no one dies alone, in pain, or without love -- a world where individuals and communities embrace a harmonious relationship with the end-of-life transition process.

Program Information

The HeartWay is a non profit organization that provides end-of-life supportive services and trainings to all regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation. The organization was founded in Laguna Beach, CA in 2015 and we served over the past 11 years hundreds of families. We currently have a small staff and are seeking interns to help us spread the word about our organization by going into local senior living communities and engaging in artistic craft activities. Interns will have the opportunity to attend various virtual trainings throughout the semester to learn more about us and the support we provide. Since this is a hybrid remote position we need self-starters. This internship is not ideal for someone who needs daily, evening or weekend support as we are all remote workers throughout the state.

All students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation, are open and welcome to participate.

Health & Safety

Students may be going into a senior livings and senior centers to drop off items. Will train students if this in fact will occur prior to visiting these communities.

No photography or videography will be required from students.

This is hybrid/remote position. Zoom meetings will be utilized and we will be provide as much support as needed since we all work remotely.
