Helping The Hopeless

Organization Description

Helping the Hopeless (HTH) is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving individuals and families throughout the Antelope Valley and greater Los Angeles County. Our mission is to strengthen communities by providing essential resources, outreach, emergency relief, and connections to supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness, low-income families, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and other underserved populations. Through community partnerships and direct service, HTH works to reduce barriers to essential resources, promote stability, and create meaningful pathways to greater self-sufficiency and well-being.

Health & Safety

HTH serves diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable community members, so participant safety is an important part of our operations. Community outreach and distribution activities may involve outdoor environments, changing weather conditions, vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and interaction with members of the public. HTH maintains established safety practices, provides appropriate supervision, and evaluates conditions before and during activities. University participants would receive clear instructions regarding their assigned responsibilities, safety expectations, appropriate boundaries, confidentiality, and emergency procedures. Students would not be expected to perform duties outside their assigned role or participate in activities determined to present an unreasonable safety concern.
