Position Description (e.g. tasks, projects, assignments)
Student Intern will shadow Physical Education teacher in organizing innovative games
and challenges that promote physical activity among all students at selected school within LEUSD from
grades K-6. The goal is to develop motor skills, physical development, proper exercise,
and eating habits among all students. The Student intern must knowledgeable about healthy
life practices and use everyday relevant situations to teach these practices, must be
creative and resourceful in using school space and limited resources to provide physical
activities, and be flexible and engaging as an instructor for students from multiple grade
levels.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes
Plan- Student Interns effectively plan for establishing a positive classroom community and plan for instruction that meets diverse student needs within their target grade level(s) in Physical Education
Teach- Student Interns establish a positive classroom environment and deliver instruction that is clear, structured, engaging, flexible, and designed and adapted for diverse learning needs while working toward equitable student outcomes.
Analyze (self)-Student Intern will analyze their own practice to determine successes and areas for growth. They identify patterns in student, class, and teacher actions and use clear criteria to evaluate evidence for self and peers.
Analyze (Student Work) - Student Intern analyzes student work to determine student progress toward and mastery of lesson and unit learning objectives while identifying trends in the data that may reveal inequitable outcomes for various student groups.
Reflect- Student intern identifies aspects of their plan and execution or other factors which did or did not support student learning. Candidates determine next steps based upon evidence.
Desired Qualifications
Understand that daily attendance and punctuality is mandatory at the assigned school, as well as attendance at seminars pre-scheduled by the program coordinator.
Consistently demonstrate professional conduct in actions and attire.
Adhere to school policies and procedures.
Work the school duty schedule of the host teacher.
Show an interest and initiative in assuming the increasing responsibilities of

Immediately notify the host teach and college coordinator of absences
Maintain confidentiality of information received about students or school personnel.
Be fair, impartial, and consistent in working with children.
Be aware of and meet all deadlines for assignments that are required.
