Organization Description

Our mission is to promote the well-being of vulnerable children by healing those harmed by abuse or neglect, helping families provide safe, nurturing homes and the resources their children need to thrive and advancing innovative programs and policies that contributes to the welfare of children.

Programs and Services

Programs and Services offered are Head Start, Early Head Start, and State Preschool Programs; half-day preschool for seriously emotionally disturbed children who have experienced trauma or multiple foster care placements; in-home visitation and groups for parents recovering from substance abuse who are learning to more effectively bond with their 0-5 children; adolescent substance abuse groups; fatherhood groups; child abuse treatment services; domestic violence response programs and groups; individual and group mental health treatment, family preservation services; foster care; enrichment activities in art, literacy, sports, teen leadership, and other programs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Health & Safety

Volunteers must be fingerprinted and also take a TB test if they have not had one in the past 1 year. CII will cover that cost of both (but only at sites with which we contract). Volunteers must fill out minimal paperwork (during their initial 30-minute interview session) including a review of the Volunteer Policy Manual. No screening is required for supervised one-day events. The Volunteer Director will go over this in the initial 30-minute interview.
