Organization Description

The Painted Turtle seeks to reach beyond illness, to inspire children with life-threatening diseases to become their greater selves. It is our mission to provide a year-round, life-changing environment for these children and their families - one that allows children to participate in an authentic camp experience by supporting their medical needs and offers their families care, education, and respite.

Programs and Services Offered

We provide camp for children and their families, that include the following activities: ropes course, boating, swimming, fishing, music, archery, and so much more.

Health & Safety

For events lasting longer than 1 day, all volunteers must meet a number of medical requirements to be on camp. These include but are not limited to MMR vaccinations, TB tests and Varicella Vaccines. The Painted Turtle will contact all upcoming volunteers to implement a Background and Sex Offender Check at no cost to the volunteer.

Additional requirements and/or considerations
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Pre-Placement Training
