Organization Description

Reading Partners is a national education nonprofit dedicated to improving students’ reading skills. We work in Title I elementary schools to support students from low-income communities who are reading 6 months to 2.5 years below grade-level. We recruit and train community volunteers to work one-on-one with students for at least 45 minutes a week, following a structured, research-based curriculum.

Program Information

The minimum requirement is one 45-minute session, once a week, for one semester (approx. 3 months). Volunteers must complete an online orientation, where they learn about our curriculum and our program in more detail, which they may take whenever convenient. They will also complete a shadow session, where they may see our tutoring taking place first-hand and have any questions or concerns answered.
