Title: Membership Advocate
Service Learning Project: The service learning project aims to assist farm-working and immigrant communities in applying for UFW Foundation Membership and provide general program support at house meetings. By doing so, we aim to empower individuals to ensure their rights are protected and that they have access to benefits and support from the UFW Foundation.
Objectives:
- Outreach and Education: Inform individuals about the membership, the benefit it offers, and how the UFW Foundation can provide additional support.
- Facilitate Application Process: Assist individuals with completing and submitting their membership application accurately and efficiently.
- Build Relationships: Establish meaningful connections with the communities we serve, fostering trust and creating a supportive environment for them.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of the service learning project to identify areas of improvement and share with the Organizing team.
Locations: This project would take place at in-person events or house meetings – It may include traveling to rural areas (i.e. Oxnard, Fillmore, Santa Paula)
Scheduling:
- Thursday /Fridays: After 5 PM (Subject to change)
Requirements:
- Must have genuine interest in working with farm working and immigrant communities
- Must have transportation OR be willing to carpool with staff
- Must be bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
- Must be punctual and communicate effectively
- *If you miss more than 2 meetings or events without providing any advance notice, you will be released from project duties.
Commitment: 15-20 service hours for one semester (equivalent to 4-5 house meetings)

Title: Content Advocate
Service Learning Project: The service learning project aims to capture and document the experiences, and perspectives of farm working and immigrant communities house meetings. By collecting testimonial’s, videos, and photos, we seek to amplify the voices of the communities we serve and sharing their contributions and challenges.
Objectives:
- Promote Community Engagement: Engage with community members, fostering trust and creating a supportive environment for them.
- Raise Awareness and Advocacy: Utilizing content to raise awareness and the unique challenges faced by communities we serve.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of the service learning project to identify areas of improvement and share with the Organizing team.
