Organization Description

Our mission is to promote and foster the acceptance of LGBTQ+ people in educational institutions. YPA works to address the alarming and substantial adversities LGBTQ students face in schools through education, support, and advocacy

Health & Safety

Students will be working with High School and College level LGBTQ Youth, who are an at-risk group for Suicide. Students are certified in Suicide Assessment and Intervention, costs covered by the organization, but it may be triggering for certain individuals.

Additional requirements and/or considerations
  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Pre-Placement Training
  • SAFETY: Students are NOT PERMITTED to take photos or video while on site.
  • SUPERVISION: Students will be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be responsible for overseeing more than 8 people.
