U.S. Vets Long Beach

U.S.VETS is a private non-profit organization providing housing, employment and counseling services to our nation’s veterans, the men and women from all branches of the armed forces who have served their country from World War II to the current conflict in Afghanistan.
With 21 residential sites and 9 service centers in 14 cities across 6 states, the District of Columbia and the territory of Guam, U.S.VETS personnel go into the local community to find homeless veterans and guide them to crucial services that might help alleviate the challenges they face as a result of their homelessness.
The range of services includes housing and employment assistance, as well as access to veterans benefits and treatment for mental and physical health problems and substance abuse.
Human Services: Provides housing, employment & mental health services to vets from all branches of armed forces. Outreach to homeless vets, guide them to critical services to alleviate their challenges.

ISAP Mission
The UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP), organized within the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, works to:
•Develop and evaluate new approaches for the treatment of substance use disorders;
•Move empirically supported treatments into mainstream application through dissemination of research findings and practice improvement efforts;
•Advance the empirical understanding of substance use disorders and support efforts to ameliorate related problems through clinical training provided to physicians, counselors, and other healthcare workers;
•Investigate the epidemiology, neurobiology, health and social consequences, treatment, and prevention of substance use disorders.
ISAP: An Overview
The UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) conducts research, provides research training and clinical training, and arranges treatment for substance use disorders in coordination with the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and in affiliation with community-based treatment providers. ISAP efforts range from epidemiological and policy studies to basic science and human laboratory research to clinical trials of innovative behavioral therapies and pharmacotherapies.
