Educational Programming InternshipAt — 826 Valencia
n the educational programming track, you will focus on working directly with students in programs, developing lesson plans, helping out in the process of publishing our students’ writing, and assisting programs staff with the ins and outs of organizing programs and scheduling volunteers.
Interns will gain experience in tailoring their approach to different learning needs, building relationships that affirm and support students. Our hope is that by the end of this experience interns recognize how writing is a tool for advocacy, and how their role as tutors is one of encouraging narratives that counter our dominant systems of oppression.
Three days of initial training focusing our 826 Valencia's values-based tutoring practices, Trauma-Informed Tutoring, Student Behavior Myths, and Navigating Learning Needs for English Learners.
Our interns are considered mandated reporters (support provided)
